The rules are simple: I put the self-timer on 2 seconds, push the button and try to get as far from the camera as I can.

great idea! very very innovative. it's the first time I've seen this concept but aren't you afraid of people running away WITH your camera while you are running AWAY from your camera?
Great concept anyway!
Every time I check this blog I find myself thinking..."someday maybe he'll get away from the camera", but it never happens. I'm a big fan of the idea and hope you do in fact outrun the camera someday.
